A tropical rain forest has a four-layered structure
consisting of a canopy of spreading tree crowns, under which fits an understorey
of narrow-crowned juvenile trees, a shrub layer and a ground layer. I created such a
forest in the 1 Utama shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur in the span of
a few weeks in 2003.
A description of the method is now published in the UTAR Agriculure Science Journal with pictures of the process. This can be viewed at the journal website
