Here we are beginning to grow more avocado trees. The ppl here have learned their lessons after finding that most of their trees do not bear fruits after so many years but they then grafted good scions onto the stumps.
Now there is a big demand for grafted avocado seedlings from a few countries around here.
We have 8 varieties of good avocados. A good variety must be very prolific fruiting, The seed must be small n the skin smooth n clean. Avocado trees are rough n tough and fast growing. They can grow well in both hot or fairly cool weather and they can tolerated wet weather. The fruits may drop prematurely if water stressed.
I strongly feel our Msian weather is very suitable and the skin of the fruits is very hard n long shelf life of at least a few weeks. The fruits are harvested when they are big n still green n keep outdoor a week or more for them to be soften then they can be eaten.
I suggest Utar import some seedlings to sell to the people here who are interested. I can delivered to Msia in pickup up to 250 seedling or 6 wheeler lorry up to 2000 seedlings.
I hv 8 varieties n ready stock. I can be contacted by WA 60162297168 or by my email or Ricko Chong in fb.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09819285153629247979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8244840933086642185.post-68566688852085468772018-01-10T08:45:22.515-08:002018-01-10T08:45:22.515-08:00Dear Dr Ng,

What make you think that 20years from now UTAR will still have avocado on their agenda. Different people will have different interest and divert resources to other projects.
The best hope to keep your avocado clones going is you help spread it to enthusiast and promote it to farmers. They will help the clone spread and prosper with their own resources. To illustrate this, big oil palm plantation maintain pure breeding stock of D and P that can trace the ancestry back to more than 50 years.
If you are busy maybe you can engage a nursery or an enthusiast to help you propagate and distribute your clones.
There is a demand for good avocado hybrid in Malaysia as more people learning to appreciate avocados. Once the hybrid is commercialized successfully like in Indonesia, Philippines and Sabah you can be assured that your
clones will live a long long time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
